The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has for mission long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. UNICEF is in Bolivia in order to ensure compliance with the rights of children and adolescents, promoting their development, ensuring legal protection and participation in society. These same purposes are extended to women and indigenous peoples. UNICEF works with the government on the eradication of child labour, and runs programmes for pre-school and special needs children. UNICEF aims to contribute to children and adolescents Bolivians in each stage of life, survive, grow and develop their skills within a framework of inclusion, respect for cultural diversity and gender equity.
