Foundation for People's Welfare Nakalembe

Unverified non-profit organisation

The Foundation for People’s Welfare Nakalembe is an NGO in Uganda with the major aim of alleviating the suffering of the most vulnerable and unprivileged people. The organisation works for people living with HIV/AIDS, helping them to become more self-reliant through counseling and support. The Foundation also provides educational support for the children of HIV/AIDS victims, and this year aims to support 275 such children with school fees and other supplies.

Its mission is to empower and transform the most vulnerable and most unfortunate individuals / households/ and other marginalized groups of people into confident and less despondent individuals able to survive, sustain themselves, advocate for, attain and defend their individual rights without always taking due recourse to charity.

Foundation for people welfare is working in partnership with St. Henry's High School Kaboyo and other local schools in the area. With this,we aim at two major factors which are; (a)-Child survival and (b) - Child development programs Currently, our entire beneficiary OVCs in the secondary section are being looked after at St. Henry’s High School Kaboyo while those at primary level and vocational instructional level are sent in the partner schools around. However, we hope to develop St. Henry’s High School into a children’s opportunity development centre (orphanage care and support centre) providing both secular and vocational education services and with Primary, Secondary and vocational departments if we happen to get support.
