ABOUT MEED/SL
After realizing that Social Emancipation, Empowerment and Development strides inclusive of persons in the above categories to equally progress along the social ladder and play crucial role, development is still at a serious decline. Successful consultative engagements and campaign were held from April 2012 – December 2014. Mission For Emancipation, Empowerment and Development Sierra Leone(MEED/SL) now exists as a registered humanitarian organization in April 2015 with the views and aspirations to transform the lives of helpless, poor and destitute young and adult women, disabled, orphans, widows and widowers from a level of low wellbeing to high wellbeing through humanitarian services using strategies such as: human rights education, agricultural productivity women and youth empowerment, emergency response and social protection.
VISION STATEMENT
The overall vision of the MEED/SL is to see an inter-religiously centered humanitarian assistance agency with evidences of self-sustained lives of helpless, poor and destitute young women, youth, disabled and orphans who are totally transformed from low to high wellbeing actively engaged within the mainstreams of society.

MISION STATEMENT
MEED/SL is a 24-7 round the clock focused agency that vigorously aids in discovering and rebuilding the full potentials and integration of helpless poor and destitute young women, youth,disabled and orphans who because of social discrimination and economic exclusion have found themselves on the edges of life and hope back to the mainstreams of society.

CAPACITY/STRENGTH AND SIZE
• Legally registered with relevant Local Government Ministries Department and Agencies
• 10 functional Board of Directors (BOD) and office spaces in both Kenema and Kalahun
• 15 qualified and experienced staffs in the two office locations- 5 in Kenema and 10 in Kalahun.
• Providers of capacity and consultancy service for small Community Base Organizations (CBOs)
• Have functional board members locally and internationally
• Branch offices n two countries- Kenya and the Gambia
• Successfully implemented 3 emergency and social protection projects
• Experienced working with both local international partners such as
Women’s Empowerment Association for Progress (WEAP.SL) International Rescue Committee, Audit Service Serra Leone,
• Provides development support services to 2 mother churches- 1 in Kailahun and 1 in Kenema.
• Standard office equipment mobility and internet facility to include: 2 desktop computers, 7 bikes, 8 laptops in both offices WIFI internet sticks, printers and copiers.
