Child Hug Uganda ( CHU) is a Community Based Organization established in 2011 with the general objectives of holistic values towards humanities. It is legally registered under the non-governmental Organization registration statue 1989, Regulation 1990 and the Local Government Act 1997 and amendment 2001 and is licensed to operate as a community Based Organization in its particular areas of interest and intervention with this Reg No: LDLG/2013/236 and it is also registered with Lira NGO Forum with Reg. No: LF/NGO/LR/1161.
The organization has a Board of Governors that provides leadership and direction on strategic and annual plans, annual budgets and exercise control to ensure that the Organization is operating within and in line with the laws of the country and its own constitution.

The organization focuses on two major areas.
Education and Health.
It focuses on education and engages in the following:
1)Support of children with tuition fees, scholastic materials and other expenses in primary schools, 2)Vocational training for the youth, such as auto mechanics course and 3) Hair dressing/Saloon training for the vulnerable girls who are unable to continue with studies.
At the medical clinic, on health we offer the following services
1)Lab services, 2)Medical treatment and dispensary,3)HIV counseling and testing
4)Immunization and Vaccination, 5)Family planning and Reproductive health and 6)Cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccination for young girls against Human papillomavirus.
The primary strengths of CHU lie in its presence at the grassroots, experience and professionalism, its focus on children, youth and women’s participation as an integral to the success of the organization.

Its methods consider unlimited factors implicit in the realities of children, youth, women and families within communities we serve.
CHU strategies encompass working with grassroots structures and building their capacity for them to become community change agents and human rights advocates
