Trickle Up Program

Unverified non-profit organisation

Based in New York City, the Trickle Up Program helps the poorest of the poor (with special focus on women, youth and other disadvantaged groups) take their first step up out of poverty through microfinance. Trickle Up helps them start their own businesses by providing capital and teaching them basic business skills. This capital is in the form of conditional grants of usually US$100. This grant model allows Trickle Up to reach the world’s poorest people who are often overlooked by microcredit programs because they are credit averse or do not qualify for loans.
