UP FORCES (Forum for Crèche and Child Care Services): UP FORCES a state level informal advocacy network of voluntary organizations working on the field of health and development across the state was formally came into existence on January ‘2003. It is a state chapter of National FORCES. U.P. Chapter has 120 members organization representing 51 districts and an 11 members’ core committee with Vigyan Foundation as the Convener Organization and organizing reglar meetings of State Core Committee to share the progress and further strategic planning of the programme. The main objective of the network is to ensure the healthy lifestyle of the vulnerable and marginalized sector of the community; especially women and under privileged children between the age group of 0-6 years. The main activities concentrate on-ensuring Full Immunization of Children, Nutrition Improvement, Registration of Birth and Death of Children, Early Childhood Care & Development (ECCD), Services Capacity Building of Partner NGOs, Research and Advocacy at District and State Level. The network also strengthen the activities provided under ICDS service and tries to ensure quality and proper delivery system at Anganwari Centres/ grassroot level. UP FORCES’s experience in Strengthening and Restructuring of ICDS Services and Nutrition Improvement.
