Multipurpose Activities for Sustainable Social change (MASS) Trust

Unverified non-profit organisation

MASS Trust is a nonprofit, non-governmental Organisation which started its work in 2002 with a survey of their proposed target area and got registered itself as a Trust under the Indian Trust Act with No. 317/02. Motivation for starting this group :
During the year, a group of five persons who were socially committed came together. They undertook an informal survey in the backward areas of Reddiarchatram, Athoor, Natham and Dindigul Panchayat unions in-order to find out the status of the downtrodden people of this area. They were moved beyond words to see the plight and misery of the most oppressed people of this area. The position of AIDS women left much to be desired. This had prompted these members to form themselves into one legal body and concentrate on taking up various projects to develop these unfortunate brethren. With the motto “GIVING LIFE, HOPE and PURPOSE to INDIA’S AIDS Orphans” this Trust was registered on 13th November 2002, with five members as its organizing committee, among whom 4 are women. Twenty staff members are directly involved in the organization
Aims of the Group:
- To motivate, educate and organize rural people to enhance their social, economic and cultural status with their involvement.
- To initiate and encourage the rural women and children in education regarding their rights and duties.
- To undertake and execute social development, emergency and relief programs for the benefit of the backward, downtrodden, particularly women and other working people in rural areas in the whole of Tamilnadu.
- To provide Care and Support Services to persons affected with HIV/AIDS, the aged and the children.
