Hakuna Matata Project

Unverified non-profit organisation

The Hakuna Matata Project is a community based organisation in Kenya. The Project aims to provide a home and shelter for women and children built in an eco-friendly way and to establish a permaculture-designed farm that will provide healthy, nutritious food for the residents. There are also plans to create a hands-on learning site for instruction in organic farming and permaculture techniques. The Project plans to raise income from crop sales; and from a “posho mill” (a place to grind local wheat or maize into flour) to generate additional income.

In addition, the Project plans to build a school for children from the local community and to set up an eco-tourism camp to attract international volunteers and to encourage local people to protect the environment.
