The Crossing for Haiti - A MOVEMENT FOR IMPROVEMENT to empower the youth in the areas of wellness, education, and the environment
General information
Overall description
FIZIKEL is a lifestyle brand of aspiration fueled with purpose. It’s a way of life, a mentality, and it’s who we are. Driven and inspired by the pulse of humanity, FIZIKEL’s mission is to empower people to take action toward reaching their peak potential. FIZIKEL’s vision is to: Change Lives – Change Communities – Change the World.
Haiti’s needs have drastically increased as a result of the recent earthquake. Haitians have experienced a great deal of hardship because of this natural disaster. Haiti is in need for a ‘Movement for Improvement’ to help transform the lives of its people by providing on-going, reliable resources in the areas of clean water, agriculture, employment, road systems and education. The people and country of Haiti will not only survive, but begin to thrive when these issues are addressed proactively through the drilling of wells and water purification systems, enhancing nutrition through the cultivation of agriculture, developing transportation and creating jobs through the building of roads.
Two main objectives that will help drive our mission are:
- Partnering and/or developing a network of trustworthy like-minded individuals, organizations, and initiatives to address the humanitarian efforts needed to rebuild and empower the people of Haiti.
- Creating an international “Movement for Improvement” driven by a marketing campaign first consisting of The Crossing for Haiti, a catalyst event whereby Jay Tayler, founder of FIZIKEL, will traverse over 1000 miles of land and sea terrain in approximately a two week span from Florida to Haiti to raise money and awareness on behalf of the Haitian people. The entire event will be documented so the world can experience ‘The Crossing for Haiti’ firsthand and be inspired to join forces to help rebuild Haiti.
This event is scheduled to start on International Youth Day of August 12, 2010 and continue to August 28, 2010 and will consist of over 300 miles of “stand up paddling”, 600 miles of biking, and a finale marathon “Run for the People of Haiti” to The Presidential Palace of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
FIZIKEL’s passion is to empower the Haitian people by implementing these initiatives that will help create a stronger infrastructure with significant impact in the areas of employment, wellness, education, and the environment.
We can do this as a united front. This is a major undertaking and requires a team effort among key individuals and organizations. With your help, together we can help transform the lives and country of Haiti and set the pace for a global “Movement for Improvement.”
FIZIKEL is interested in partnering with the NGOs to help promote International Youth Day along with how the Millenium Development Goals influence the youth. FIZIKEL, along with Jay Tayler, would like to offer to provide the service of The Crossing for Haiti to NGOS along with promoting of International Youth Day at no cost. FIZIKEL founder, Jay Tayler, is an ambassador of delivering a message that promotes improved health, education, and environment to our youth.
In addition, we would like to partner to help collaborate corporations and non-profits to help implement initiatives in wellness, education, green development, and environmental consciousness in Haiti. This ‘Movement for Improvement’ will start in Haiti and be promoted through the event The Crossing for Haiti. The Movement for Improvement campaign and future physical events will continue thereafter.
