Funding needed for transportation and distribution of donated goods in Tanzania

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

The target beneficiaries are well organized and are already requested tool, equipment and materials from Crossroads Global Distribution via Women Rights Action group (WRAG. The Crossroads will ferry them to Dar Es Salaam harbor, in The United Republic of Tanzania. Unfortunately, the groups and requesting partner have no funds for incurring transport from Dar es salaam to kigoma where they are supposed to be used for benefiting the clients.

Based on the the situation, the WRAG requested external donors to support funds so as to manage to transport the requested tool, material and equipments from Dar es salaam to Kigoma.

What is your project and how will it help?

As from 2010 to date, 51 community based organizations and 33 social economic groups made requests on tool, equipment and materials to Women Rights Action Group (WRAG)in Kigoma region in the Republic of Tanzania. As part of its community group empowerment strategy, WRAG decided to conduct a participatory meeting for all client group in which, 97% of them attended. The aim of the meeting was to understand common problem which are facing them while coming up with constructive and strategically solutions to solve the problems.

During the meeting, the beneficiaries under facilitation of WRAG identified common problems that face them which were and not limited to the following;
They lack tool, equipment and materials for using them for improving their productivity so as to improve social economical status in the community.

The participants also identified, through participative approach the main route cause which were financial hardship for managing to acquire tool, equipment and materials.

Based on the Crossroads guidelines, the crossroads is able to ship the requested tool, equipment and materials up to Dar Es Salaam Harbor, only. The clients can not manage to transport them to Kigoma region via vehicle which is located about 1600 Kilometers from Dar Es Salaam in the Republic of Tanzania.

Based on the above, the beneficial partners through Women Rights Action Group (WRAG) as requesting body hereby request financial assistance from other partners so as to facilitate the tool, equipment and materials to Kigoma. This is due to financial hardship which are facing them.

How can other people partner with you on your project?

Donors will provide transport funding from Dar Es Salaam to Kigoma (1600 Kilometers) while Private transport company will assist in provision vehicle transportation, government will assist in provision legal entity for the material, tool and equipments. The beneficiaries will load and unload, ferrying them to the relevant respective destinations.
