The International Committe of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an independent organisation whose mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence, and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in situations of relief.

The ICRC – Russia (Moscow) focuses on past regional conflicts and the current North Caucasus situation. It maintains strategic dialogue with the Russian Federation on humanitarian and IHL issues, and supports various National Societies.
