Volunteer Youth Doctor Association

Unverified non-profit organisation

The Volunteer Youth Doctor Association is a Cambodian NGO that aims to provide free health and dental care to people in need. The Association, comprised of doctors and medical students in Phnom Penh, hopes to raise sufficient funds in the next three years to acquire a building to serve as a centre from which to operate. It is our great opportunity to inform you that VYDA has mainly clear goal to help enhance the healthcare of Cambodian poor people at all localities who have no enough capacity to reach public and private healthcare services through providing the free dental and medical services to them. Since its establishment, VYDA has so far had four missions.

- One was the mission which VYDA provided a set of food and some medicaments to the 1050 elder and children who participated in the morning ceremony of the King Father Norodom Sihanouk on 03-Jan-2013 in front of the Royal Palace.
- Second was the outreach mission to Bak Kreng in Kandal Province on March 2nd, 2013, which provided both free medical and dental services, including distributing drugs, providing dental check-up and extracting teeth to the 530 villagers living there.
- Third was the mission to Kompong Chhang Province which provided both free medical and dental service to 1038 villagers living there.
- Four was the Prek Ta Sek Village in Phnom Penh which provided both free medical and dental service to 718 villagers living there.

To implement the four missions, VYDA worked very hard to gather little amount of donation from VYDA founder and its own members who are still university students, and we found that budget issue has been the main issue to accomplish our mission goal. We strongly hope that, with the contribution in the aspects of financial as well as instrumental support from you, VYDA will be able to expand our capacity in helping more Cambodian poor people who are in need of our charitably healthcare activities.
