The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN global development network promoting national solutions to support the efforts of countries to eradicate poverty. In Venezuela, UNDP has been raised to build alliances to strengthen the capacities of men and women, organizations and institutions, and promote opportunities for social, economic, political, institutional, territorial, environmental and cultural betterment. The aim of UNDP-Venezuela is to achieve the poverty reduction by working towards gender equality and by focusing on information and communication technologies. It also supports measures to lay the groundwork to ensure statistical information oriented monitoring indicators for Human Development, the country’s progress in relation to the Millennium Development Goals and monitoring of social programs nationwide.
