The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is an NGO based in Alberta, Canada. The organisation collects old and unwanted computer equipment for recycling and donation from locations across Canada. Arrangements can also be made to pickup used electronic equipment from the USA and the UK. All data is removed before computers are redistributed to schools, charities and NGOs, and any waste produced is treated in an environmentally friendly way. ERA is also involved in a work placement scheme for young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds
