United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the United Nations’ global development network. Through its 166 country offices, UNDP is engaged in reaching the Millennium development goals of reducing poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation and discrimination. UNDP connects and organises global and national efforts to raise awareness, track progress and advocate for change. It builds partnerships between countries and promotes participation, accountability and effectiveness to prompt sustainable development. In Jordan, UNDP’s focus is to support the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in providing solutions to the challenges of: reducing poverty and achieving the Millennium Development Goals, promoting climate change and protecting the environment, and disaster management and preparedness.
