Support educational project in Zambia
Requested by
Mannix AcademyWho are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?
Mannix Academy is an educational institute providing education to the communities of Kafue district of Zambia, Central Africa.
What is your project and how will it help?
The project is of addressing the campaign of stopping early marriages, gender based violence, and climate change through education in Zambia. The project is also working to reduce illiteracy among vulnerable children, especially girls.
We are also sensitizing the HIV/AIDS pandemic and reduce the web of poverty facing nearly every home of the community by providing quality education and promote self reliance.
The school also has income generating activities to enable the school to be self sustainable. The school is involved in the following: rearing of chickens, vegetable growing, piggery, cattle rearing and many more.
Currently we are facing the following challenges in our project:
- The classrooms we are using are not enough and we need to construct more classroom blocks.
- The other challenge is transport. Most of our children are coming from long distances and during rain reason they are unable to come to school.
How can other people partner with you on your project?
- People can partner with us by supporting our projects financially, materially, technically or providing other services.
- Partners can also visit our school and learn what we are doing, encourage exchange visits.
- We accommodate volunteers in Zambia who are willing to help us.
Please detail the resources that you need.
Construction of new classrooms: roughly ZMK 500,000,000 = USD 100,000
Transport, a minibus: roughly ZMK 100,000,000 = USD 20,000
