The Asia Foundation is a private, non-profit, non-governmental organisation working to advance the mutual interests of the United States and the Asia Pacific region. The Foundation is committed to the development of a peaceful, prosperous, and open Asia-Pacific region. It offers grants for projects whose scope falls within the Foundation's current programmes (Governance Law and Civil Society, Women's Participation, Economic Reform and Development, and International Development). Most grants are made to organisations in Asia (individuals will not be considered). Before any request is made for a grant, the Foundation encourages prospective grantees to follow a three phase process (see website for details).
