Handicap International - Emergency Response Department, formerly Atlas Logistique, works in the field to assist the victims of crises, natural disasters, and vulnerable and disabled people in particular. The organisation can also offer medical assistance (healthcare, rehabilitation and psychological support) and provide transport, storage and the distribution of humanitarian aid. It helps set up and manage camps for refugee and displaced persons, and participates in voluntary repatriation operations. Emergency interventions also involve the construction of shelters, scalable temporary housing and reconstruction.
