Does Global Hand provide transport?
Generally, the NGO organises the freight.
Global Hand is, in essence, a “brokerage”. We introduce the parties to one another, but do not, ourselves, warehouse or freight the goods. Generally, the NGO organises the freight. To that end, the Global Hand community features NGOs with the capacity to handle and pay for rapid movement of goods.
We do, however:
- offer freight transactionality through the Offers and Requests sections of the site.
- help connect parties needing freight through our Library, in entries that can be sorted by geographic location and other fields.
- have a transport affiliates group that specialises in the freight of aid cargo.
- offer a guide for people organising their own freight.
